There’s only one truck month we recognize: July (sorry, Ford). That’s because July features Taste of Chicago and a bevy of food trucks serving local flavors. This year, we shined a light on a few of the must-sees: the 5’ tall cheesecake Eli’s Cheesecake decorated for their 40th anniversary and the 245G excavator John Deere turned into the largest pizza cutter in the world.

When we started our selection process for the foods to feature on our Chicago Food Tour, it only seemed natural to tackle the great debate of Chicago pizza. Here’s where our tour led us: My Pi Pizza, Crust Fund Pizza, George’s Deep Dish and Bungalow By Middle Brow.

If you know us, you know, we go nuts for donuts. So, choosing a few favorite donut destinations, was no detour at all. Here are our tour stops: 2d Restaurant, Firecakes and Liberation Donuts.

Next time you’re free for lunch, check out the best dog houses in our backyard: Dave’s Red Hots, Chicago’s Dog House, Superdawg Drive-In and Fixin’ Franks inside The Home Depot.
